We left home on July 5 and returned home July 11.
We stayed at the Recreation Inn and Suites, which was just a small motel. It was clean and did have a pool too.
While in Kelowna we did a few things: golfing, mini golfing, site seeing (vineyards), and of course checking out local pubs. It was super hot the entire time we were there, with the average temperature being 35 degrees. Some days we thought we were going to melt.
First day, July 5th. We dropped Swiffer off bright and early at Matt's mom and then we were on our way. We stopped at the Enchanted Forest because my mom told me it was really neat. Yeah, really neat if you're 10. Haha! We also stopped at The Log Barn, but it was so hot that it was all we could do to quickly walk around and then get back into the air conditioned car. After we stopped at Walmart in Vernon to buy a swimsuit because someone forgot theirs (oops!), we arrived into Kelowna around suppertime. We checked into our hotel and decided to walk down the block and find a pub to get a bite to eat and have a drink. I think this was the hottest day of our trip, as I almost died walking 3 blocks to the pub we found.
July 6th - Matt and I decided to go golfing at Mission Creek Golf Club. Just him and I. It was a nice little course for me and we had a great time. After golf we drove around for a little while and then decided to go mini golfing at 19 Greens. It was so hot. I don't think that I've ever mini golfed that fast! Then we got some lunch and decided to go take a dip in our pool to cool down. Dad and Rox called shortly after we got out of the pool and then we went over to their condo and had a drink with them.
On July 7th, I went to Peachland with Sean, Trina, Joey, Ryan, and my dad to go ziplining. While I was gone doing this, Matt met up with his Uncle David and went golfing at Shannon Lake. After that we met at Matt's Uncle Keith's house and had a BBQ with his uncles and cousins. It was a great day, but also super hot!
July 8th - In the morning, we met Stacey and Zach for breakfast at deDutch and then headed to the Kangaroo farm which was just a short drive away. It was really cool. We got to hold baby joeys and see all kinds of different kangaroos. After that we went back to our motel and relaxed for a little while before we had to get ready for the wedding. Stacey picked us up and we headed off to Summerhill Pyramid Winery for Natalie and Luan's wedding. It was a fantastic ceremony, although really hot, and an even greater evening. I even ended up catching the bouquet! Matt ran for the hills when he saw me catch it! They had a photo booth so we took quite a few silly and good photos throughout the night.
July 9th - This was a relax day! We hung out at Dad and Rox's condo and stayed cool in the pool there. We also did a natural green putting course at 19 Greens. Matt's cousins, Shaun and Tammy, were also staying at the same condo so we spent part of the afternoon at the pool with them. For supper, Dad and Rox took us out to Smack Dab, which was in a complex right across from them. It was great!
July 10th - Today we golfing Shadow Ridge Golf Course with my dad. We teed off at 9:36am and did 18 holes there. It was a nice course. They did a great job recovering from the flood. Then we went and picked up some cherries from an orchard. Tonight Matt took me to Rose's, which is a waterfront pub, for supper. We were going to go for a nice, fancy dinner, but ended up at this pub instead. It was still a nice place to eat. After supper we went back and had a drink at Dad and Rox's condo.
July 11th - Time to head home. We checked out of our hotel and headed on our way home. We stopped in Sicamous for gas, Golden for lunch, and then Water Valley for a drink. After that we stopped to pick up my Swiffer dog and then we got home around 8 pm.
